FRISCO, Texas – McNeese’s Blake Elliott is the Southland Conference February Golfer of the Month, the league announced Wednesday. All Southland Athletes of the Month are presented by MidSouth Bank.Elliott helped his Cowboys squad averaging a score of 70 throughout the month of February. Over eight rounds of play, the Liberty Hill, Texas, product recorded a round-low 66 at the Sea Best Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla. (Feb. 4-5), where he finished tied for fourth. Elliott followed that performance with another fourth-place finish at The All-American Intercollegiate in Houston (Feb. 17-19). He then concluded his month by winning the Louisiana Classics in Lafayette, La. (Feb. 25-26).February Golfer of the Month: Blake Elliott – Sr. – Liberty Hill, Texas Elliott boosted his national ranking to No. 30 after capturing the individual title at the Louisiana Classics and helping the Cowboys to the tournament’s team title. Throughout the month of February, the senior tallied a 1st place in addition to a pair of 4th place finishes. Over the course of his three tournament appearances, Elliott shot par or better in six of eight rounds and recorded rounds within the 60s on five occasions.Honorable Mention: John Hill, Incarnate Word; Jake Hendrix, Stephen F.
